I'm getting married in 12 days!! Wow. To prep, I've been doing the librarian-artist thing - first research, then make art (interchangable). Here is a little illustration that's going in.

And the questions I'm asking: describe your current relationship status/primary relationship(s) (can include family, non-romance) What is love? (definition) if you're not married, do you want to get married? why or why not?if you are married or have been married, why? do you have advice/experience with isolation in relationships, and how to avoid it/how can romantic relationships fit into the worlds outside it? do you have advice/thoughts/experience with heteronormativity and ways to dismantle/circumvent it? what advice do you have for me and my partner?

I think this is a personality thing and an artist thing also a parenthood thing and also a part time worker with a kid thing.

There is so much nasty ish in this world. Learned this during labor and working on it still. I’m trying to share more motherhood comics as I scan them!

After a trip to Sweden I’ve been pissed all over again at the lack of social supports in this country generally and for parents specifically. What the hell.

I go back home tomorrow! Glad to be in Sweden to hear @kristinenowlain crush it on the stage and to see my grandma, who turns 94 soon, and is just a gooshy love ball these days, and the rest of the family! Thanks @freshevk for holding it down at home with Henry (I stopped crying every time I saw a baby around day 4)

I’m not going to be home for thanksgiving tomorrow, but I still support @nevadacityrancherianisenan and you can too! They have an ancestral homelands reciprocity program that is great, and are currently doing a speaker series @nevada_county_library - next one is December 3. Check it out!!!! Also - thanksgiving is a shitty holiday, and the attempts to rebrand as a time of gratitude is so hard to swallow too. I love eating a great meal with friends and family, and reflecting on what is wonderful in my life. But it’s so so important on thanksgiving especially but also everyday to acknowledge our history as a country (and on smaller geographic scales) and our current reality. As the scholar Dr. Deb Reese asked in the second image, what would happen if we understand we’re on native lands everytime we picked up a book? Or how about every time we gather, buy stuff, think about our future?
